Frequently Asked Questions:

When do I need to schedule my flights to and from Juneau?

The float plane will leave Ward Air for the lodge Sunday evening at 6 PM. For the return trip to Juneau guests will leave the lodge at approximately 9 AM. We suggest that guests plan on flying into Juneau on Saturday evening and fly out on Sunday. Float planes can not fly in bad weather. If you do purchase tickets for the day of, make sure that they are late flights and that you have insurance. We cannot guarantee delivery to Juneau Airport prior to your early morning flights.

Need things to do in Juneau? Here are some ideas!

Alaska has a mind of her own and weather will occasionally affect flights. Salmon Run Fishing Lodge, LLC nor any airlines will be held responsible for missed flights due to unforeseeable circumstances or any costs that they may incur because of missed flights.

Do we have wifi?

You will be staying in an extremely remote area in Alaska!  While we do have very limited (and not very good, for that matter..) internet for business purposes, please do NOT plan on having unlimited access or excellent connection while you’re here. Besides, if you’ve come with a plan to work while you’re here, what kind of vacation are you taking anyway?!

We do have cell phone service both at the lodge and on the water (it’s actually much better on the water). You’ll be able to make calls, send texts and pictures and check your social media, but streaming services will not be available.

Do we have TV/Cable?

We do not. We are a fishing lodge and an adventure location and believe that time spent watching TV is a waste in this gorgeous area. There is just far too much to see and do!

Do we offer reimbursement for cancelled trips?

We do not offer reimbursements. We are a remote lodge and because of that everything is scheduled months prior to your visit! We will, however, be more than happy to apply the credit for a later available date or a different year!

When is my payment due?

Half ($1,750.00 per person) is due upon booking, The remainder is due by April 1, 2022 for a total of $3,500 per person.

We charge a convenience fee of 3.5% for all credit card transactions.

Please note that you will not be allowed to load the float plane to the lodge if you or your group has any unpaid balances. Starting April 2 a weekly $50.00 late charge will be applied to your balance until payment is received.

Do we do discounts for groups?

No, we do not offer discounts for groups.

What's the weather like?

Southeast Alaska gets a lot of rain! But we do see sunny days! Plan for around 65-75°F with thicker sweaters or hoodies.

Will I see northern lights?

During the beginning of the season we see some long days, with very little night time! The chances of seeing them are much higher towards August but even then, we’re a little too far south to get big shows that early!

Can I bring my kids?

Absolutely! We suggest they be around the age of twelve, but younger children are welcome as long as a parent or guardian stay with them at all times. We do not offer childcare and children cannot, under ANY circumstance, be left at the lodge without adult supervision.

Do we provide fly fishing gear?

We do not. You are welcome to bring your own as there are multiple rivers teeming with salmon in the inlet!

Do we serve alchohol?

Nope! You’re welcome to buy your own in Juneau and bring it with you to the lodge!

Do I need to get my fishing license before I arrive?

Yes, you do. You can purchase your 7 day sport fishing license and king stamp from the Alaska Fish and Game website here.
